Logo - Maenhir

I was commissioned to create a logo for an upcoming indie celtic-themed adventure game called Maenhir. Because of the title and setting, I wanted to base it on a stone circle, and also tried to create something as instantly recognisable and memorable as the iconic Dragon Quest logo.

Finished logo, created in Affinty Designer.

I explored a few different ideas with the client, as well as some variations on the stone circle idea.

We tried out a few colour tests, including of one of the rejected ideas, in case it worked better in colour.

To begin with I drew the logo neatly in Clip Studio. Because the perspective was so warped and artificial, I rejected the idea of building a 3D model, and instead used a combination of rulers and a custom built set of curves for the perspective.

I then built the full logo in Affinity Designer, based on the neat Clip studio drawing, allowing me to create multiple mono and colour alternate versions.
